Frequently Asked Questions |
In order to "make the decision for
a lifetime," it will be necessary at some point for participants to meet with selected ladies in Bogota, the
capitol city of Colombia. The Mate 4 U Connection makes this trip as comfortable as possible. When you become a
subscriber, you will receive full details on all aspects of the experience. Here are a few of the questions we
hear most often: |
Q: Where is Colombia? |
A: The
nation of Colombia is in the northern part of South America, on the Caribbean, just below Panama. With a population
of about 8.0 million, Bogota is the largest city in Colombia and the 3rd largest city in South America. It is approximately
2,100 miles from New York City, and 3,200 miles from Los Angeles. |
Q: What is Bogota like? |
A: Bogota
is a cosmopolitan city with many cultural attractions. You will find a wide variety of restaurants and hotels,
as well as casinos and night clubs. Getting around town is easy and safe by taxi. |
Q: How do I get there? |
A: There
are direct flights to Bogota from a number of U.S. cities, including Miami, Houston, New York, Newark(NJ) and Los
Angeles. And there are many alternative routes with connections that are fast and easy. |
Q: How much will the trip
cost? |
A: Air
fares will, of course, vary depending on where and when you leave. But you can anticipate a round-trip ticket will
cost between $500 and $800. Figure on spending $120 per day for hotel room, dining and entertainment. |
Q: What is a "fiancé
visa"? |
A: With
a fiancé visa, a U.S. citizen may bring a person from another country, as "legally intending to be
married," to live in the U.S. This visa is good for 90-day period (and is usually extendable for another 90
days.) Once the couple are officially married, a resident alien status can be attained. |
Q: Is there a lot of legal
red tape? |
A: The
Mate 4 U Connection will provide you with the information that the Colombian and U.S. governments require. While
in Bogota, you will make a brief visit to the U.S. Embassy, which is very easy to work with. You do have to meet
requirements concerning your financial assets, but the fact is that the overwhelming majority of American men who
apply will meet these requirements. Government regulations prohibit people who have been convicted of felonies
from applying. |
Q: How will I communicate? |
A: Most
Colombian ladies have a basic background in English, and many speak it fluently. Where necessary, we supply a translator
at a small cost. |
